I gave you a preview of this chunky knit scarf in Monday’s post which you can read here if you missed it. You all know I’m a hat and scarf junkie but this scarf was so good that I had to go back and buy it in another color. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The reason I love hats and scarves so much is simple. They are affordable ways to add a fun element to your outfit and change up your look. You can wear the same sweater but accessorize it with a different hat and/or scarf and no one will know you wore that SAME favorite sweater AGAIN (yup I’m guility of this). I have a closet full of clothes but like most women I gravitate towards the same 5 sweaters. No one really knows though because I’m constantly changing up my winter accessories.
This scarf comes in 4 different colors and it’s currently 40% off making it less than $20 as of post time! I mean how can you not buy multiple colors? Love that it is a hand knit scarf making the quality really good on this one.
Staying with the $20 theme of the day LOL is this must have v-neck sweater. I bought 2 colors in this one because let’s face it when I find something I love and it’s a basic piece I always buy multiple colors plus it being only $20 it doesn’t break the bank. This sweater is the perfect basic that you’ll get TONS of use out of. You can style it off shoulder with a bralette or on the shoulder. Long enough for leggings and looks cute front tucked or worn regularly. It’s a bit oversized so I wouldn’t size up. I’m wearing a small.
I know by now everyone is tired of reading GOALS 2018 posts or advice, but I felt the need to share just a bit of mine. Like most women I juggle a ton on a daily basis. I work full time, workout 6 days a week, run this blog, and most importantly I’m a wife and mama.
Goals keep us motivated. A goal to lose weight, a goal to make more money, a goal to save up for that big item you want. While goals are essential at keeping us moving forward I personally find taking personal vows to make improvements in life so rewarding. These become promises you make to yourself and those around you. Parts of my daily wheel suffer at times and when it does I try to adjust and take a vow to improve where I feel parts are lacking. When I write my vows out it really helps set a vision of what’s important to me and helps me find balance.
So my personal vows for this year:
- Since launching this blog I have to spend a TON of time on my phone and computer at night. Erik works nights so I know it’s hard at times for Summer. I stopped posting on Saturday nights to have family time but I vow to leave enough time every evening to have longer 1 on 1 time with Summer. Play more Barbies, have tea parties, color together for these are the things I will miss one day. In the blink of an eye these innocent stages of her life will be behind us and I don’t want to miss any of it. So I promise you little girl that I will be more present in the everyday moments of your life even if it’s just a game of Candy Land because I know at 5 years old Candy Land is important to you.
- At the same time I want this blog to continue to grow so I vow to continue to write 3 posts a week and if that means wake up earlier to get it done so I have more time in the evening with Summer so be it. I will find that work/life balance and stick to it. Blogging is the most rewarding thing I have ever done and I’m so passionate about it so it’s important to me that I devote as much as I can to it.
- I vow to tell Erik how much he means to me. I really am the luckiest girl. He has a highly stressful career, does all my photography for the blog (and NEVER complains about it), keeps our home beautiful (he’s currently renovating our master bath) and cooks me dinner EVERY night. Oh, and he’s the best Dad to Summer. I know you are reading this Erik so thank you. I am not getting mushy here, but I just vow to make you feel appreciated because you are!
- Lastly, I vow to nuture the relationships in my life that are meaningful and let go of the ones that are toxic. I will surround myself with only supportive, loving friends and family members and not stress over the ones that I can’t change. Right? Because who has time or energy for that anyway? Cherish the good people in your life and remember to tell them what they mean to you!
Just a few small promises for the upcoming year that I hope will bring serenity and balance to my life! What are your vows or goals for the upcoming year? I would love to hear them!
See you all back here Friday! I’ll be sharing my fitness routine with you! I finally put that post together. It was a TON of work but I’m excited to share it with you.
