P.S. I’m also constantly inspired by beautiful quotes. About 4 years ago, I started creating these weekly posts and letting Summer relay these sweet messages to the world. You’ll find tidbits of inspiration in our #mondaymessage. While the messages are totally unrelated to style and décor Summer’s personality really shines through in these messages so I’ll be sharing them weekly on the House of Leo. I hope you enjoy seeing them!
An almost 40 mom and wife who has a passion for style, decorating and a profound love of animals. A husband and father who would do absolutely anything for his family. A preschooler with a larger than life presence in a tiny but mighty body. Born in August she is a true Leo that radiates sass and sunshine. And two maltese who must have been soulmates in a past life because their bond is a deep one.
We are The House of Leo.
Hello! My name is Tammy and I am the voice behind the House of Leo Blog. This blog was born out of my need for creativity and as a way for me to share my love of creating outfits and my other love of updating our home. The common trait between the two is everything I do is done on a budget. I find ways to mix highs and lows so that the outcome almost always has the look for less.
Like most girls I love to shop. When our daughter was born I started toting her around with me right from the beginning. It’s kind of funny but I taught her shopping etiquette and how to behave in stores when she was learning to walk. Now almost 5 years later she truly has become one of my favorite shopping partners. I mean this kid for the past 2 years has braved Black Friday shopping with me. She will be a big part of this blog. I will share the sales we find together. The fun dressing room trips we have. I will equally share the clothes I find for me and the things I find for her.
My husband and I had this great idea back in 2008 after being married for only 4 months to buy a major fixer upper. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. We renovated that home top to bottom in 4 years. Then we decided to torture ourselves even more and sell that home and buy yet another home in need of some major TLC. We have been working on our current home for the past 5 years. We both love to remodel and incorporate an eclectic mix of styles into our home. We have learned to remodel and decorate with the same moto I use in shopping for clothes, mixing highs and lows.
I dress for the everyday. I favor tried and true classic pieces mixed with the current trends. I am in the petite category and have figured out what stores and brands are best for those of us on the shorter side. I will splurge in some areas but you’ll be pleasantly surprised to see what I don’t spend much on. I will never keep an uncomfortable pair of shoes. Let’s face it, at almost 40 my days of stiletto heel suffering are long behind me. I am very simple with colors and patterns but will almost always add in accessories to complete a look.
I am just your average girl bringing you everyday style. Style that is practical. Style that will make you feel good. Style that works for the everyday moments of your life. Whether that be in what you wear to brave the day ahead or it’s how you create a wall of photos in your home. My hope is I can inspire you to do just that.
