I know I’m the not the only one who wants no fuss makeup in the summer. You can just get away with so much less when you have tanned, bronzed skin. Not only that but Summer goes to daycare all summer long but I still let her stay up late with me. Ok ok maybe I’m just not great at getting her to bed early LOL. At any rate I just can’t get myself out of bed in the morning and am forever running late! My makeup is by far what takes me the longest to do in the morning. I am sitting here writing this post as another perfect summer weekend comes to an end. Carnival nights with Summer’s school friends, pool and beach time and a Saturday night spent with dear, old friends. All this makes me think about the friendships I’ve had in my life. Some friends have come and gone just because we’ve simply outgrown each other. Others may have drifted but you find your way back to each other and can pick up right where you left off. Others you meet and get close to because of where you are in your life now. Your job, kids, and neighborhood can bring people into your lives that you never otherwise may have met. I realize I have experienced all of these types of friends in my life. Erik and I left our hometown just about 10 years ago and it wasn’t until Friday night when we went to our town’s carnival that we realized we are part of a community now. We have met some amazing friends living here and it feels so good to go out see so many people you know and realize we are a part of someplace.
Yesterday marked the first official day of SUMMER although I started celebrating my favorite season of the year about a month ago! With that being said if you haven’t swapped out your cold weather makeup yet it’s time to bring in some fresh summer colors. I know what you might be thinking looking at the picture above. There are no light, soft colors. I am such a LOVER of a bold lip year round. While I experiment with makeup all the time (Yup I’m a beauty junkie) my go to look is always a softer eye but a bold lip. Deep reds in the winter, plums in the fall and bright pinks and corals in the summer. I am definitely more of a pink girl and have too many shades of pink lipsticks to count! Most of the ones you’ll find here are MAC. There are other great makeup lines out there but MAC has always been my ride or die brand. I don’t love their shadows like I used to but their lipsticks are still my favorite. They are so pigmented and they wear so well.
