FAVORITE SUMMER LIPSTICKS

Yesterday marked the first official day of SUMMER although I started celebrating my favorite season of the year about a month ago! With that being said if you haven’t swapped out your cold weather makeup yet it’s time to bring in some fresh summer colors. I know what you might be thinking looking at the picture above. There are no light, soft colors. I am such a LOVER of a bold lip year round. While I experiment with makeup all the time (Yup I’m a beauty junkie) my go to look is always a softer eye but a bold lip. Deep reds in the winter, plums in the fall and bright pinks and corals in the summer. I am definitely more of a pink girl and have too many shades of pink lipsticks to count! Most of the ones you’ll find here are MAC. There are other great makeup lines out there but MAC has always been my ride or die brand. I don’t love their shadows like I used to but their lipsticks are still my favorite. They are so pigmented and they wear so well.

I am not sure if all stores are offering it but I know that MAC stores, Bloomies, Nordstrom and Macy’s is. MAC rarely does a promo like this so jump on it! #noexcuses

So now that you have this great deal to shop with here are my picks for summer colors:

From left to right

Little Buddha: A softer, lighter pink with peach tones in it. Definitely pops though!

Breathing Fire: Think fuschia with this bright, bold color. I chose this one as my free lipstick but I love a deep purple-pink in the summer.

Relentlessly Red: This is another I love year round. It’s very matte so super long wearing. Has a pink tint to offset the red.

Costa Chic: By far my new favorite color for this summer. I am obsessed with coral in the warmer months. This one is soft but bold. It definitely stands out but not as overpowering as some of the others. I love this one when you wear gold, shimmery shadows on the eye. By the way, if you haven’t tried golds and bronzes on your eyes do it! Such a warm, summery look!

Pink Nouveau: Bright pink. I love this one year round. Has a nice matte finish to it.

Pink (Dior Addict Fluid Stick): Super creamy and longwearing gloss. You could wear this one alone but I love to layer this particular pink over my bolder lipsticks to calm the color down. Adds such a pretty shine. I literally wear this color with so many other colors.

Thumbelina (Ulta Butter Balm): Super reasonable and one of my favorite products. Adds a nice shine and moisture to your lips. I will use this one like I use the Dior. I layer it over my lipsticks to soften the color. This one is a pretty peach and looks great over pinks, reds and corals.

Drive to Pink (Lancôme Color Design Lip Crayon): This is a very bright, bold pink. Think Barbie. It has such good wear though. Creamy  and light on your lips. I love that you can use it as a pencil and then just color in the lip. Love these so much and this color look amazing with a tan! Just no smooching with this shade unless you want your significant other to have pink lips.

I know I didn’t feature any drugstore lipsticks. I do use drugstore makeup products but lipsticks I generally stay faithful to MAC. If you are going to look for drugstore dupes I will say that NYX has a huge variety of colors and they are super long wearing. If you splurge on the lipstick you can always save and get the Ulta butter balm. #winwin

Hope this list inspires you to try some bright colors this summer! Don’t be afraid to try bold lips especially in the warmer months. Makeup always looks better with a tan!
