Thirteen years ago I made a big mistake. I walked into a puppy store. I now know never to buy a dog from a pet store and I’ve never done that again, but this one time I did. I asked to see a little yorkie who looked so scared hiding in the corner. I thought to myself who is going to buy this sad looking dog. So out he came into my arms. After cuddling him for a few minutes what did he do? He nose dived out of my arms. I felt awful. This poor dog was so traumatized. I put him back in his cage but all I could think about is how can I leave him there? I was still living with my parents at the time and pleaded with them to let me get him. They really weren’t happy about it because I already had Bijou, my maltese. But all I could think about was that sad little puppy that jumped out of my arms. I went back the very next day and got him.

SIMPLE LABOR DAY OUTFIT
So this is it. Labor Day weekend is upon us. While summer doesn’t end for another good month, Labor Day always makes me feel that the official summer season is over. So for those of who had summers off I hope you enjoy this last week of “summer.” School mode will be in full effect come a week from now.
PLAID, MULES + A BIRTHDAY
My little Benjamin Angelo turns 11 today. I don’t even know how that is possible. Where does time go?! Our Bubby (as Summer nicknamed him) is a lover, space cadet, nut and mush all mixed into one. He is picky with who he likes but if he likes you then he really likes you! He sleeps on my head every night (yes my dogs sleep in my bed and I wouldn’t dream of having it any other way) and when I come home he literally throws himself at me with excitement. Those bear paws and big eyes melt me daily. So Benny today is your day! Happy Birthday my lil love!Read More
ONE SHIRT TWO DIFFERENT WAYS
Summer is winding down. I can feel it in the air. Cherishing these summer weekends because while September is still warm in NJ it quickly changes. I’m still stuck on summer tops though. Not giving those up until I absolutely have to! I got this pretty cold shoulder top recently because the colors were so soft and airy.
HOW TO STYLE AN OVERSIZED TOP
One of my favorite go to looks is an oversized top or a high low cut top paired with leggings or skinny jeans. It just balances an outfit. One of my rules (ha! Yes I have these fashion rules that I personally follow) is if you have on a fuller bottom (think joggers, maxi skirt, boyfriend jeans) then pair it with a tighter top. On the flip if you have on tight skinny jeans add a looser top (high low, off the shoulder, tunic). A full or flowy top with a flowy skirt or baggy jeans is too hobo and gives you no definition. Tight pants with a tight top only ok if you are in your 20s and going clubbing (those days are long gone for me LOL). Got it? This might seem like obvious advice to most people but so often I’ll see a great top that could be styled so much better just by following these rules. Trust me!
