So this time of year is always crazy to me. We get those chilly nights and warm days but we start getting tired of wearing summer clothes, but we aren’t quite ready to bundle ourselves up head to toe (is anyone actually ever ready for that?!). In the next few weeks though everyone will start running to the orchards and farms to go apple and pumpkin picking. Love this time of year!
The past few years it has been so mild in late September and October though that I find it hard to know what to wear but still look fall festive. In my head I want to wear scarves and heavy cardigans for fall activities but who the heck wants to be sweltering hot? And somehow doing these fall family fun days just doesn’t seem right in flip flops and short sleeve tops, am I right?
Enter the good ol classic (that I’m sure you all already have in your closet) denim jacket. I get a good 4 years out of my denim jackets before replacing them. This one is probably in it’s 3rd year but I linked similar ones. My go to places for denim jackets is always Gap, J Crew and Madewell.

Throw on the uber popular blanket scarf to add some warmth but also be able to take it off if it gets too warm. Blanket scarves are the BEST! So many ways to lay them, style them and wear them.

Lastly, Hunter boots. A bit pricey but so worth it. You need a pair in your closet. I have had high ones for years but recently added short ones. They are perfect for walking through fields, rainy and snowy days. The detail on the back of these is so cute. i completely feel you on wanting to just wear all fall clothes already. I was about to change out my closet, but it is supposed to go back to the 80s for the next week here. a definitely plan on adding a denim jacket and hunter boots to my closet this year.

Stacey I know! September weather is so hot and cold. It’ll be time soon enough though. Def add Hunter boots! You’ll get a ton of wear out of them all year. I’ll even wear mine on rainy days in the summer.
