Ok it’s finally here! I get so many questions about fall lipsticks and makeup in general so I finally put together a post for my current favs. I recently bought new lipsticks and changed my foundation for fall so I thought I would do a roundup of my new favorites as well as my tried and true favorites. I haven’t bought any new shadows so I’ll do another post with those and maybe, just maybe I’ll be brave enough to post a video!
For those that are new to my blog you have to know that 95% of the time I wear a bold lip. So alot of the colors I suggest will be pretty bold but honestly I love that look for fall. Burgundys, plums! So good! There are definitley some neutrals though that I’ll share too because let’s face it you can’t go wrong with a smokey eye and a nice neutral lip.
Most of the colors swatched on my arm are shown with the liners I use with them. It’s so important to color your lip in with the liner before applying the lipstick. It’ll hold your lipstick so much longer.
From left to right:
Istanbul by NYX worn over Whipped Caviar by NYX. These are bargain friendly but sooo good! NYX has such staying power and doesn’t break the wallet. If you want a MAC lipstick get BRAVE (it’s identical to Whipped Caviar)
MAC Rebel & MAC Vino liner – Great bold plums. (come in a lip duo too)
MAC Sin & MAC Burgunday liner – This is the combo you have been seeing me wear constantly. Just a note, add some chapstick before applying this color as it’s VERY matte!
MAC Kinda Sexy & MAC prolong wear liner in Nice ‘N’ Spicy – Great neutral combo and LOVE this liner.
MAC Velvet Teddy & MAC Whirl liner – Definitely on the neutral side but has a bit of a pop. Comes in a mini size too for only $10.
MAC Creme Cup & MAC Soar liner – Neutral pink. I’ve been wearing this one for years. The liner is dark here but this one I like to layer so I’ll color my entire lip in and then add the lipstick over to give it a little bit more boldness. You could use a more neutral liner with this color if you wanted.
NYX Charmed & MAC Burgunday liner – Another NYX budget friendly fav. Similar to MAC Sin but a bit more red and not quite as bold.
Bare Minerals Swag & Bare Minerals Swanky worn over – These are a pretty neutral pink but have a nice soft pop.

Ok so I’m a big foundation lover. I love full coverage but I have very sensitive skin so I have to watch what I use. My skin is so dry which isn’t always the best with a matte full coverage foundation. What I found that works is the Laura Mercier Hydrating primer worn under my foundation and I always put a small squirt of the Becca highlighter mixed into my foundation.

MAC Pro Longwear – This has been my ride or die for YEARS! I still love this but being a product junkie I am always looking to try others. I only have great things to say about this one though!
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ – This has always been a favorite of mine. It is full coverage but leaves a very dewey finish. Has SPF and anti-aging elements.
Estee Lauder Double Wear – So I finally jumped on board to see what the hype was about. And yeah, it’s good ladies. It’s really good. In the photo above it’s what I’m wearing. Full coverage but still feels light to me.
Tarte Amazonian Clay – Another new one I got this fall. It’s thick so you gotta really work with it but I love the finish it leaves. Doesn’t feel heavy and won’t clog your pores. And it wears nicely all day. *Do not apply with a beauty blender. Defintiely use a brush.
Laura Mercier Silk Creme – An old favorite. SUPER matte finish. This one is great for photo shoots.
Tarte Concealer – If you aren’t using this concealer yet you are missing out. Hands down the best one on the market!
Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer – It’s kinda gel like. Very light, but really works magic on dry skin. I can’t live without this as I have the most dry skin out there! No flaking when I use this.
Becca Skin Perfecting Highlighter – Another ride or die. I squirt (a little goes a long way) into my foundation and mix the two together. Gives just a touch of dewey to a matte foundation. LOVE this stuff!
My go to foundation brushes are this one by Sigma and this one by IT Cosmetics. And I use this mat to clean my brushes. This mat makes all the difference.
Lastly I just have to mention these new lashes I got. I’ve always used Ardell Wispies but I have very hooded eyes and I honestly can barely see the lashes when I apply them. I tried these faux mink ones and seriously…..da bomb! Look at those lashes! And super inexpensive.

Hi Jenn! I like the Tarte concealer because it’s thick and really covers but doesn’t feel heavy at all and doesn’t cake. I’ve tried others but this is def my fave!
Loved this post my style sista! Have similar lip colors of course. Definitely inspires me to do more in the makeup department. I need to get this highlighter to mix in with foundation. I’m oily so need to use matte, but want a little dewy glow too.
