If you read Monday’s post then you know I caved and added a pair of boyfriend jeans to my closet. Like I needed another pair of jeans haha. Definitely stepped out of my comfort zone of skinny jeans when I bought these jeans. Remember the mom jean? Well the boyfriend jean is like the modern day version of the mom jean with it’s high waist and baggy fit but styled right they blow the mom jean of the 90’s out of the water. The first question I always hear in regards to this style is, “What do I wear with boyfriend jeans? How do I pull this look off?”
The one element that comes into play with boyfriend jeans is proportion. Just as longer, fuller tops look best with leggings you would do the opposite with boyfriend jeans. Being the jean is baggier I would recommend going with either a cropped, shorter or tighter top on top.
When I wore the bomber jacket with the jeans in this post I wore a fitted tank and tucked it in. It gives your body shape otherwise you could just look like a baggy mess if you wore a loose fitting top with these jeans.

The twist back really shows off the high waist of the jean. This top looks cute with a tank or bralette underneath. Worn on shoulder or off it’s perfect for date night or a casual day out.
As for shoes with boyfriend jeans — love a good classic heel or a block heel open toe sandal. I personally like a little height with these jeans (again with the proportions) but you could wear sneakers or flip flops with them. Just remember to go more fitted with your top to balance you out especially for us petite girls.
This particular pair of jeans are Levi’s. The reviews said to size up but I thought the bigger size was huge on me. I went with my regular size. I will say these are a real jean. No stretch at all. When I pulled them out the bag I had a flashback to high school when I wore classic jeans. If you are unsure about sizing I would suggest getting your regular size and size up and return which pair doesn’t work. With the high waist I didn’t want that annoying loose fit in the waist where it puffs out in the back. You know what I mean. #annoying
