NYFW 2018 WEEKEND RECAP

Pinch me please! This weekend was a whirlwind of fashion fun, parties, meetings, networking and self accomplishment! I am going to go into full detail of my NYFW 2018 weekend recap of everything I did in this post and I’ll have a separate post out Tuesday with my city shoot of what I wore to the Reward Style event Saturday night. There’s just too much to recap and too many photos to put into one post. In other words this post is full of the fun, (mostly) unprofessional, party photos — but you gotta share those kinda photos every once in awhile! 

So to start — never did I think when I launched this blog almost a year and a half ago that I would be invited to so many fashion shows and networking events centered around NYFW. Yes, I went to one show back in February and while I was proud to be invited it was a very small show. You can see that post here. So when Reward Style invited me to both of their invite only events my stomach dropped. There were so many other events I wanted to attend but I decided to make this year’s NYFW all about Reward Style and visiting the showroom to one of the brands that are very dear to my heart.

I started my NYFW weekend on Friday with a visit to the By Design showroom. You have all seen me feature Love by Design on my blog pretty much from the start. Most recently I featured two of their fall sweaters in this post here and here. Love by Design was one of the very first brands to reach out to me when I was starting out. I have showcased their clothes from Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Buckle, Dillard’s and more consistently on my blog. I just adore the crew behind the brand and it was an absolute dream to finally meet them in person and see their showroom and the behind the scenes.

I got a preview of some of their pieces that are in the works for this fall and winter and they are all amazing! Maggie who is my point of contact snapped some fun photos on their rooftop terrace. I will forever be grateful to the team at By Design for believing in me when my photos were amateur, my following was small and I was just a newbie blogger. I’ve built such a relationship with them throughout the year and I’ll always have a soft spot for them and room in my closet for their pieces.

Next stop was to the Reward Style party at the Monarch Rooftop. Reward Style is who I monetize my blog with. You all know them better as LiketoKnow.it. Whenever I link clothes, shoes, etc it is done through LiketoKnow.it. Reward Style is the platform that allows influencers to use affiliate links to make a commission from the retailer for any purchases made from our links. Reward Style hosts 2 exclusive events during NYFW and invites their top influencers to attend. I honestly thought I was dreaming when I got these invites. I am not gonna lie. I was scared as heck to go. The top bloggers would all be there, I really didn’t know anyone going and I was scared I was going to feel like the little fish in a big pond. BUT how could I not go? I’ve worked my butt off to get to where I am with my blog and after settling my nerves I told myself no way was I going to miss this.

The event at the Monarch was amazing. I met 2 bloggers right (Covet on the Go and Amalynstyle) when I walked in and we clicked immediately. Both mamas who love fashion just like me. We mingled, sipped mimosas and I ended my afternoon with a meeting with my Reward Style rep to go over how I am doing, strategy and goals.

Saturday I headed back into the city. Did a quick photo shoot and my squad (Erik and Summer) headed to American Girl after dropping me off at the Bowery Hotel for the Reward Style cocktail party. Such a FUN night! Tons of photo backdrops, meeting other bloggers, a huge wall where we could write our name and why we launched our blogs.

Music, drinks, mingling, amazing outfits! So much fun. My squad picked me up and it was back to mom life as soon as we got home. Summer wanted pasta at 11pm haha!

I woke up today with crazy hair and sleepy eyes and I knew it wasn’t a dream. Grateful, determined and recharged to take on another week in fashion! See you back here Tuesday!
