So I have to be totally honest. I’ve been feeling totally uninspired blog wise since the holidays ended. I think a lot of influencers go through this rut this time of year. Erik watches a lot of YouTubers and he says they have been putting less content out the past few weeks. I think most people are offline during the holidays (which they should be) so views are down during this time. I also think we run such a gauntlet to get all all our holiday content out that once it’s finished it’s like ok now what? We have months of cold weather ahead of us, most people feel shopped out but yet we go into the new year wanting to do something new and exciting.
Lately I just feel like ok here’s yet another outfit post. While I LOVE doing outfit blog posts I can honestly get bored and uninspired featuring sweater after sweater. Yet I am committed to still bringing you 3 full blog posts a week.
I think the majority of you follow this blog for the outfit posts and that is the foundation of HOLB so I’ll never stop doing that but I also want to bring some fresh content to the blog this year, try some things I haven’t really done yet and keep the blog a place that you want to keep coming back to and want to share with your friends and family.
So with that being said I will have 3 new blog series that I will be rolling out this month. Clearly everyone in the world LOVES Amazon and every time I feature a clothing item or accessory from Amazon a ton of you scoop them up. So I will be introducing Amazon Hauls either once or twice a month. I will order 5-7 items (mix of clothing and accessories), do a try on in my Instagram stories and then feature the pieces in a blog post that week. I am aiming to have the first post up this coming Thursday.
The second blog series I am going to roll out is a “What’s In My Cart” blog post. Again, I’ll do this one either once or twice a month. I do a lot of shopping and browsing and am adding things to my shopping carts daily. I don’t always buy these things but they are things that have caught my eye. Some are clothes, household goods, food items, etc. I thought this could be a fun series to share with you all the things on my radar. This series will start next week.
For the third blog series I am planning to do a monthly Ulta Haul. I love to feature beauty in my content but I don’t feel like I get enough beauty on the blog itself. So once a month I’ll go to Ulta and buy some new beauty products, test them out and review. A ton of you loved my hair tutorial (saved to my Instgram highlights if you missed it) so I’ll aim to do makeup tutorials to go with this post on my Instagram too.
And closing this out with an easy outfit to recreate. These jeans are still going strong a year later. You just need 1 good pair of boyfriend jeans in your closet and these are my all time favs. You can see them in this post from last year. Still one of my favorite outfits I ever had on HOLB.
I featured this sweater on my IG last week. Great classic turtlenecks never go out of style. This one looks and feels like cashmere but is currently on sale for under $21! I also featured another good sale sweater on the blog last week in this post.

Hi Wendy! Would you believe I really don’t own any flats?! I find them so uncomfortable as well. I will keep my eye out for you though and do some research!
Love your new ideas for upcoming blogs. i subscribe to 2 different youtube ladies (they are designed for older woman) mostly about makeup. They do other things beside makeup ulta haul , going through their trash etc. What is really amazing is how they have gotten so much better over time.

Hi Deb! I’ll def check those out. Always looking for inspiration on the blog. Hauls are really big right now so I’m excited to start bringing more of them to the blog.
