I told you all I would start featuring a monthly beauty haul on the blog so to kick off this series I thought it would be a good time to have my complexion evaluated at my favorite beauty retailer, Bluemercury, and try some new products that would help me achieve an easy everyday makeup look. So I decided to book a complexion appointment with a professional at Bluemercury to help me find a natural, quick and simple makeup routine that I could apply everyday. On days that I’m shooting I do wear a good amount of makeup because with photos you honestly need to, but for everyday life I wanted something much simpler.
My appointment with the professional at Bluemercury was so educational and informative. I told her my skin runs very dry so we used the Lune + Aster RealGlow Primer as my base.
I told her I like full coverage foundation but wanted something lighter for this natural look. She matched me with the Laura Mercier Lumiere Foundation.
For concealer I am OBSESSED with the Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Lift. It brightens the under eye area so much, feels lightweight and calms puffiness.
For eyes I got Trish McEvoy eye base essentials which you can apply with a finger all over your lid and eye. You an wear this alone or you can apply shadows over it. For the crease we added in Laura Mercier liquid eyecolor and it added in the perfect shimmer while still looking so natural. I love that you can just apply these 2 products with your finger for quick and easy application. AND bonus — this look did not take any eyeliner. So natural!
While I love a bold lip I wanted something long lasting but very soft for this everyday look. I’m so loving the NARS lipstick in shade Santo Domingo.
I also have to mention that if you have dry skin you will love the M-61 hydrate and glow line at Bluemercury. So gentle and super effective especially on those that suffer from dry skin!
I consider myself pretty knowledgeable with makeup but really felt my appointment taught me so much and I found products I never would have tried on my own.
