From watching Disney movies to playing dress up in their playrooms to dreaming of vacations to Disney World — the one thing in the soul of every little girl is the desire to be a princess. I had the chance to make that desire a lifetime memory with our latest princess session with April Narby.
If you know me personally or have been a follower of HOLB for awhile then you have seen the amazing work of April Narby grace my blog throughout the years. Remember my heartfelt Mother’s Day post from last year? You can see it here. Those beautiful photos were all April Narby.
We started using April on an annual basis when Summer was only 10 days old. Every year like clockwork we booked a mommy and me session with her. Even Erik and the dogs have made past shoots. And yes April has shot several blog campaigns for me. You can see her latest work with me here. Over the years she has become family to us.
I have been so emotional about Summer turning 7 years old in a few weeks. While still so innocent I see her changing so much. Trading in My Little Pony headbands for JoJo Siwa bows and tutu skirts for denim jeans — her baby ways are slowing fading.
But so goes the quote goes, “No one is too old for fairytales.” And to remember these innocent day of her childhood she got to be a princess for a day.
The princess session by April Narby is the perfect way to transform your little one into a princess while getting beautiful images to display in your home. April provides gorgeous dresses and accessories for your daughter to wear and her magical editing will add a touch to your photos like nothing you’ve seen before.
I’ve seen many photographers work throughout blogging but none compare to the work that April does. So many photographers do similar work. However, I’ve yet to see anyone capture magic in a photo like April does in her princess sessions.
One princess session is an hour long and you get 15-20 images. The best images are edited as high resolution files via download from April’s site. The cost is $275 but mention House of Leo Blog when booking and April will give you 10% off your booking.
This makes a darling present for a birthday, holiday or just as a personal keepsake of cherishing the princess in all our little girls.
Summer may be on the verge of retiring her princess tutus but she will always be a princess to me. The images captured this day will stay with us forever. One day I will look at her in her wedding gown and reflect back on these photos. I will be reminded of her childhood sweetness, innocence and pure wonder for life.
They grow so quickly mamas. Don’t let this beautiful stage in their lives pass you by. Continue to fix their crowns, fluff their tutus, and wear pigtails. Let them stay a princess for as long as you can. If this was the last time I’ll ever see Summer in a princess dress I will forever be grateful I have these princess session photos to remember it by.
