All about Summer on the blog this week and today is all about her horse theme birthday party! In case you missed it check out this sentimental birthday post I put out the other day. If you have been a HOLB follower for a few years then you know we go all out every year for Summer’s birthday. My birthday is in the dead of winter so having a summer baby was a dream come true. We love personalizing her pool parties with the year’s theme!
It was a perfect celebration for our girl! I’m currently away on a 3 day/2 night campaign trip with Shop Rite but wanted to make sure I got this post up. If you follow me on IG and FB then you probably saw these photos already but wanted to share the details with the rest of you!
So here’s how it usually goes. Summer chooses her theme. I start coming up with a vision. My mom turns that vision into the most adorable party.
Every year I do a favor table for the kids made up of candies, treats and personalized gifts. For the horse theme birthday party we went with the vintage vibe with soft colors of pink, white, teal and brown. I trimmed with lots of galvonized baskets and trays and dollar store doilies.
The favor table had horse gummies and horse lollipops. My mom made homemade cake pops, rice crispy treats and chocolate dipped pretzels.
Every horse theme birthday party needs these pony tail holders for the girls. How cute right?!
As for the table? So easy. Mason jars wrapped with ribbon and baby’s breathe. I added a doilie to each place setting for that sweet vintage touch.
And the cake! My mom makes Summer’s cake every year. Summer had 2 requests regarding the cake. Spirit the horse as a topper and a BIG cake. Well she got both AND we got a lot of leftovers LOL.
I love how her horse theme birthday party came out. All relatively easy just time consuming. Nothing wrong with DIY parties. You just need to plan weeks in advance (and it obviously helps that my mom is so hands on LOL). For more party inspo check out our past 2 parties here and here. Back to fashion next week. See you Sunday for my August Amazon Haul!
