OK so last week I showed you my basics capsule in this blog post. That post had all my essential tanks, tees, leggings and bralettes to make the base of all your outfits easy to style. BUT today we get into the good stuff. My fall capsule are all my key pieces you need this fall for mixing and matching outfits. Granted I show you a lot of clothes. That’s my job right? BUT for easy dressing you really only need 1 of each of these items. They can all be mixed and matched. I’ll show you outfit layouts at the end of this post.
SHOP MY FALL CAPSULE:
1 | GRAPHIC TEE – These are all the rage right now and will add instant edge to any outfit. Think band tees, whimsical sayings, pretty much anything with a graphic. These look great worn alone, under flannels, under moto jackets or to dress down cardigans.
2 |CAMI – I showed you this cami in last week’s basic capsule, but if you didn’t grab one yet now is the time. Wear them alone for date night or under any cardigan or jacket.

3 | FLANNEL – Nothing says fall to me like a good flannel. I still have flannels that I wear from 10 years ago! I love them worn by themselves or layered under vests, jackets and cardigans.
4 | VEST – I had to include the classic vest in my fall capsule. Vests will never go out of style. This year the sherpa suede vest is a big draw. I just got this one from Evereve and it’s so gorgeous. Wear these over flannels and long sleeve tees.

5 | CHUNKY SCARF – Never met a chunky scarf I didn’t love. These are hands down the easiest accessories to wear that will add instant pop to your outfit. I showed you these in this post the other day. For fall and winter you can lay these over any sweater or jacket. Look cute and cozy with sherpa boots (think UGGS) or dress them up by adding a wedge or heel bootie. Honestly, anything goes with scarves.

6 | FEDORA WOOL HAT – Are you surprised? You know I love me some hats! The #1 accessory to get this fall is a fedora wool hat. And I don’t want to hear you aren’t a hat person or I can’t pull this off. Yes you can! Just put it on your head, add some confidence and rock it. I promise once you wear it you”ll constantly want to wear them!

7 | CARDIGAN – No shortage of cardigans around here but I pulled this one for my fall capsule because it’s timeless, super warm and chunky and will go with anything. The quality is topnotch on this one.
8 | MOTO JACKET – You absolutely need at least 1 moto jacket in your wardrobe. Suede or faux leather will work. I chose this one because it has a detachable hood and can be dressed up or down. You can wear this jacket with sneakers, boots, to the office, date night or casually around town. Wear them over tees, flannels. Add scarves and hats. So so easy to style these! I got this exact one in pink last year and wear it all the time!

9 | DISTRESSED JEANS – My favorite pair of high waisted skinny jeans of the season. The fit is amazing on these and they have petite options. More in this post.
10 | SPANX LEGGINGS – You already saw me round up my must have leggings in this post the other day. They are an absolute must for a fall capsule.

11 | CARDIGAN TYPE JACKET – I showed you a classic cardigan in #7 but I wanted to include a cardigan that can also be worn as a jacket. This has been one of my top sellers on HOLB this season! I showed you how to style this cardi jacket 2 ways in this blog post. This cardigan/jacket looks so cute layered over tees and flannels. Also use code PREFALL to score it for 40% off!

12 | CLASSIC SWEATER – If you aren’t in the position to buy a ton of sweaters this fall or you just have plenty and don’t need to add many then just make sure to have a classic sweater such as a tunic style or turtleneck. These are one of those blank canvas pieces. Wear alone or pair with scarves, hats or jackets. I’ll have this one in my closet for years! See more in this post.
13 | NEUTRAL BOOTIE – I am past the days of wearing uncomfortable shoes or shoes with too high a heel. You can bet that all the shoes I show you on HOLB are comfort approved. These are the perfect heel height, have crazy good reviews and will be your go to bootie to complete any outfit. These boots come in a ton of colors but my advice is to get tan. Tan is the easiest neutral to have and will match any outfit.

14 | CROSSBODY BAG – I showed you this bag more closely in this blog post. You absolutely need to use a crossbody bag. They are just easy and the camera style bag like this one is the perfect size for errands or a night out. The bold strap is so on trend and this color combo will match browns and blacks. I’m not sure when the sale ends but as I’m writing this post it’s currently 30% off with code WEAREFAMILY.

15 | SNAKESKIN BOOTIES – I kept my fall capsule pretty much with basics that will stay in style for years but still — you gotta have some fun on trend things to get you through the season. All about snakeskin and leopard. Being I got leopard booties last year I had to get snakeskin this year. I’ve told you this before but leopard and snakeskin are both NEUTRALS! In other words, they will match anything and add that perfect on trend touch to your outfits! See them styled in this blog post here and here.

16 | STAR SNEAKERS – A good pair of fashion sneakers are another must. Golden Goose are so popular right now but I just can’t bring myself to spend over $500 for sneakers. These are a great dupe right around $100. Love how they add instant street edge to any outfit. Did you notice how I paired them with both the flannel and SPANX leggings from today’s post?
HOW DO YOU PUT ALL THESE ITEMS TOGETHER TO CREATE OUTFITS?
Take a look below at the 2 boards I created:

I gave you 8 outfit ideas here, however, there are a ton more. Swap out the leggings for jeans, for instance. Switch the shoes up. Add or leave the scarf and hat. The options are endless. The key here is everything I showed you is made up of neutral colors, therefore, everything can mix and match. Hopefully this fall capsule helped you to start visualizing your fall wardrobes!

Love this! I have a lot of cardigans and wear them with everything and we won’t even talk about flannels or plaids. I have so many from Hollister is my favorite because they are just so soft. I love wool hats and was lucky enough to grab a nice Nine West one from Macy’s for a ridiculous price. 🙂
Those pieces never go out of style!
