I feel like it’s that time of year that EVERYONE starts to battle dry skin. Whether it’s on our face, our arms, lifeless hair — the winter can be harsh! I’ve talked about my own battles with dry skin with you before but this winter I’m armed and ready to kick the dry skin battle to the curb. Weapon of choice? Palmer’s Cocoa Butter. Sharing some of my favorite cocoa butter facts and hacks with you today.
Raise your hand if you used Palmer’s products to reduce stretch marks when you were pregnant? ME! Did you know that Palmer’s has been around for 175 years? Their products have been passed down from generation to generation. Filled with real, high quality ingredients that really work and are always affordable. There’s a reason your mom’s and grandmom’s used Palmer’s.
Best known for their Cocoa Butter formula, it is the #1 Cocoa Butter brand in the United States! There are 101 total uses for using Palmer’s Cocoa Butter but below I’m rounding up my top 10 cocoa butter uses for winter time.
#1 HYDRATE SPLIT ENDS
Probably my favorite way to use Palmer’s is to apply their Cocoa Butter to my split ends. Between drying, curling and straightening my ends get pretty beat up. Soothing this on my ends helps keep my hair so much healthier and stronger.
#2 SOOTHES CRACKED HEELS
Nothing worse than having cracked heels. No pedicure in the world can get rid of unsightly heels. Rubbing Palmer’s on my heels before bedtime is so soothing and helps keep my heels moisturized.
#3 SUBSTITUTE FOR SHAVING CREAM
Granted I use shaving cream most days but my legs get SO dry during the winter. Substituting Palmer’s Moisturizing Body Oil for shaving cream has been life changing. Not even kidding. My skin is super smooth afterwards, and the razor glides on which means no cuts or razor burn.
#4 SOFTENS ROUGH, DRY ELBOWS AND KNEES
I love to smooth their body lotion on my knees, elbows and also my hands right before bedtime. It almost feels like a mask for my skin and the perfect way to pamper my skin overnight.
#5 REMOVES MAKEUP
Talk about a hack! This is a GOOD one! Cleansers can be so drying on the face. Not only will Palmer’s Moisturizing Body Oil take your makeup off but it’ll leave your skin instantly hydrated. Such a gentle, natural way to clean your face.
#6 USE AS A LIP BALM & AS A LIPSTICK PRIMER
And once you are done washing your face you can use it on your lips overnight as a lip balm. I also love applying it to my lips before using a matte lipstick. It helps my lipstick apply more evenly and keeps my lips from drying out. Often what happens when you use matte lipsticks.
#7 TAME FLYAWAYS & CONTROL STATIC
These 2 go hand in hand. If you are experiencing static on your clothes or static in your hair then apply some Palmer’s to your hands and lightly rub onto your clothes or flyaways!
#8 PROTECTS TATTOOS
In case you didn’t know Erik has quite a bit of tattoos. They’ve grown on me over the years LOL. Summer calls them needle tattoos! When you first get tattoos done you need to keep the skin moisturized to help with the color. And even though Erik has had his for years he still keeps his tattoos protected by using Palmer’s. Moisturized skin will help the color stay vibrant and help your skin from experiencing any rough patches.
#9 CONDITIONS AND SOFTENS PET’S PAWS
You didn’t think I put Emma in here for nothing, did you? YES! You can even use their Cocoa Butter on your pet’s paws! Rough skin doesn’t just plague us in the winter. Their little paws get dry too and applying a little bit to paws goes a long way!
#10 HELPS KEEP SKIN MOISTURIZED FOR 48 HOURS
48 hours is a LONG time! That just goes to show how effective Palmer’s is! Something that can keep your skin moisturized for that stretch of time must be good.
There are a ton more uses for Palmer’s Cocoa Butter but these are my favorites for winter time use! Here’s to hydrated skin and hair all winter long!
