We are all feeling that cabin fever, that constant isolation from friends and family, that lack of motivation to do anything other than watch the news and surf the internet. BUT now more than ever it’s so important to keep a positive mindset and take care of our bodies. Today I’m partnering with Famous Footwear to share some ways to keep a positive outlook. Kind of like daily mantras to weave into our new day to day.

TAKE THE TIME TO SET NEW GOALS
Personally I’m finding one of the best ways to keep a positive outlook is by setting new goals. Work has changed so much for most of us. Those who are used to going into the office are now working from home. Many who own businesses are experiencing major shifts in their business models. I am now taking the time to set new goals on things I want to change in my own business and goals I want to reach in the next few months. Setting new goals helps keep us organized and motivated especially when we find ourselves working alone.

TRY SOMETHING NEW
As much as we keep hearing this I think trying something new is another great way to keep a positive outlook. How many times have we put something off because we just don’t have the time for it? Well no better time than now to learn a new skill. Learn to sew, cook something, study photography. I don’t know about you but anytime I take on a new hobby I get so immersed in it. It’s a great escape and does wonders for the mind! Skillshare is also offering 3 free months right now.

SUPPORT AND GIVE BACK
Nothing and I mean nothing feels better than to give back and support. Whether it’s a charity, a small business or a local restaurant showing them support will go such a long way. The other day I cleaned out the 3rd closet in our house and gathered up a bunch of baby blankets, towels and linens and donated them to our local animal shelter. One of my favorite causes to support is American Maltese Association Rescue. And at least once a week we make sure to order takeout to show our support to our favorite local restaurants.

RECHARGE AND REACH OUT
I think part of keeping a positive outlook is having a healthy balance of self reflection and social interaction. Take some time everyday to meditate. Even if you don’t meditate find a few minutes to tap into your thoughts and take a few deep breaths to process what you’re feeling. With having everyone in the household home at the same time it’s important to find a few minutes to yourself each day. And on the flip side, we are all craving social interaction outside the household. Take some time to make a phone call to friends and family. Don’t text. Don’t email. TALK! Sometimes a good talk is all we need to feel recharged again. The popular HouseParty app is a great way to connect as is the Zoom app for group face chats!

GET FRESH AIR DAILY
And with spring officially being here there is no better time to get outside and get some vitamin D! Granted we can’t be running to parks right now, but we can absolutely take a walk or bike ride around the neighborhood. Personally, a new pair of shoes always entices me to get out there. The spring shoe collection from Famous Footwear has so many great options for the entire family.

If you saw this post last month then you know how much I love my classic Vans from Famous Footwear, but these classic Converse with a modern twist of leopard are great for spring and easy to throw on and go. I love how all the 90 classics are back in style again.

Tip! Size down one full size in Converse. Whether you are looking for running shoes, style sneakers, sandals or shoes for the kids Famous Footwear has a style for everyone at an unbeatable price point. Each day is a challenge for sure but maintaining a positive outlook will help us all get through. Appreciate all that you have. Rekindle connections. Stay strong. This too shall pass friends.
