Got a fun one for ya ladies today! Always love putting a good capsule together for easy dressing and to really maximize the pieces in our closet. How many times do we think to ourselves I can only wear this jacket one way or this top only goes with jeans? Capsules help us to plan out several ways to wear things and really get some mileage out of our clothes. Today I’m showing you 8 key pieces and creating 13 outfits (YES I SAID 13 OUTFITS) with my winter wardrobe capsule with Evereve pieces.
SHOP THE POST:
When creating a winter wardrobe capsule the focus should be on mixing in basics, a few trendy items, layering pieces like jackets and cardigans, shoes that can go with everything and bottoms that are high quality. Being these are pieces we will be styling over and over it is worth investing in brands that are high quality and can stand up to some wear. Evereve is always one of my favorite spots for pieces that will pack a statement and will last from season to season. And fit and lifestyle is everything. Evereve always has pieces that fit, feel good and they have endless options that can take you from daytime mom on the go to having a ladies get together at night.
KEY PIECE: A SWEATER WITH AN EDGE
We all have closets full of sweaters and I’m totally guilty of not getting enough use out of mine. Some are too casual, some are too dressy, some are too bulky. Basics ladies. This is why I love me some good ol’ basics. They go with everything. Love the style on this elevated basic. That cut out just adds a lil something something. The length is perfect for leggings, jeans, and you can easily dress this one up or down.
KEY PIECE: A HIGH QUALITY PAIR OF LEGGINGS
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Not all leggings are created equally. There’s a time and place for every type of legging. Love my $20 bargain ones for lounging but let’s be honest. We get a season out of them before they lose their shape right? This pair by Varley were life changing the moment I put them on. Butter soft, control waist band and they literally smooth everything out. Light enough to work out in but chic enough to wear with your outfits. Trust me on these — they look just like regular leggings but you’ll appreciate them once you put them on. And the length is especially perfect for petites. No extra fabric that I’m trying to conceal under my sweater.
KEY PIECE: A THERMAL
Next key piece we need in our winter wardrobe capsule is a long sleeve piece we can wear alone or layer under a jacket or cardigan. Think thermals, long sleeve tees or henleys. This one by Chaser (one of my fav brands) is in between a lightweight thermal and tee. Definitely thicker than a tee. It has the cutest circle hem in the front and back making it legging friendly and bonus — it has thumb holes.
KEY PIECE: A CARDIGAN
And what goes better with a layering tee other than a good, cozy cardigan. Especially love that this one is a neutral color as it’ll match so much. The fabric is crazy soft, has deep pockets and heavy enough to wear as a jacket.
KEY PIECE: PREMIUM DENIM
Here’s the thing with denim. There are 2 types of denim out there. Budget friendly denim and premium denim. The difference is budget friendly denim is obviously more affordable and great for a season or two, but the more you wear and wash them the more they lose their shape. With premium denim the opposite happens. The more you wear and wash them the better they get with time. When creating a winter wardrobe capsule I highly suggest investing in a good pair of premium denim. The point is to wear these pieces over and over right? My brand of choice with premium denim is almost always Agolde. This pair has good stretch but still has that very true denim feel. Also love the lighter wash for 4 seasons out of the year. Take note — I did cut the bottom to create a raw hem but the regular length cuffed one time did look cute on my 5’2 frame. I just personally love a raw hem.
KEY PIECE: A GRAPHIC TEE
So we have some basics in our winter wardrobe capsule but gotta have some trendy pieces mixed in there too right? You all know I love my graphics and Evereve ALWAYS has the BEST selection of graphic and band tees. Similar to the striped top from Chaser this one has that same front and back circle bottom making it legging friendly.
KEY PIECE: A MOTO JACKET
So much yes for this moto jacket! Actually didn’t think I was going to love this one as much as I did until I put it on. Marrakech jackets are hot ladies and I can see why. They pack a statement but are still timeless. This one is a faux leather but the fabric is butter soft. Almost has a velvet suede feel to it.
I love my heavier moto jackets for wearing out more like a coat, but this one is actually more practical as it’s easier to style with outfits. Think of it more as part of the outfit. Not the one you hand over to your girlfriend to hang up in her coat closet when you arrive. You will actually keep this one on similar to a blazer in my opinion. Pair with tees, jeans, leggings, dresses, skirts — easily the one piece in my winter wardrobe capsule that you’ll probably get the most use out of.
KEY PIECE: STATEMENT SNEAKERS
And how do we tie all of these looks up from my winter wardrobe capsule? With sneakers, literally! So yes — we could easily have done a pair of boots with these looks BUT come on ladies — sneakers are trending big time and I say let’s be comfy!
No shortage of kicks in my closet but the cult following behind P448 is completely justified. They not only pack a statement but they are insanely comfortable. Evereve has a great selection of P448 sneakers from bold prints to solids. But I say go bold and just treat them like a neutral. Run TTS.
But that’s not all. Above are another 8 ways to style all the pieces I showed you in my winter wardrobe capsule. Really puts into perspective how many pieces one really needs per season right? It’s all about taking key pieces and seeing how many ways you can actually layer, mix and match. Truly does make getting dressed a whole lot easier and gets you so much more wear out of the pieces you add to your closet. Head to my stories later today to see a try on of all these pieces. Excited to hear how you’ll create your own winter wardrobe!
