The start of any new season can get overwhelming for all of us. What do I need? What’s still in from last year? What’s out? What is trending? What do I already have? Making it easy for ya today and breaking down 5 must have trends for fall. Odds are you already have a few of these from last year. And if you don’t then no worries. These are 5 items that will stay in for awhile in my opinion so it’ll be worth investing in them.
TRENDING: STRAIGHT LEG DENIM
JEANS | TANK | SNEAKERS
Mom jeans are still in. Skinny jeans are still in. But if there is one pair of denim style that is necessary right now it’s a good pair of straight leg denim. They look dynamite with booties, sneakers and mules. The key with straight leg denim is to have them expose a touch of your ankle with your shoes. I cut 99% of my jeans to get that exact look. Don’t be scared of the scissors ladies. Cut away. Truly makes your jeans look so much better. I used to stress over buying lengths in jeans but now I don’t. I usually just buy regular length and cut to where I want them.
In my opinion, it’s worth the investment on a good pair of premium denim. The more I wear my Agolde and Paige denim the more I appreciate the difference in how they wear compared to budget denim. This pair of Paige styled above is currently on sale and one of my favs pair right now.

Yup sweater season is soon approaching but not just any old sweater season. Statement sweaters are another one of my must have trends for fall. Puffy sleeves, asymmetrical details, stripes, patterns — anything that stands out and doesn’t require much else as far as accessories go. I styled this one above with another pair of straight leg denim I’m currently obsessed with. Once I cut this denim they instantly have become my new favorite pair.

You probably could’ve guessed that shackets would be another one of my must have trends for fall. These made their debut last year and they are still going strong! Odds are you probably already have one or two or more like me. But in the case that you haven’t gotten one yet — grab one! They go with everything and meet all budgets. Probably my personal favorite trend right now is the hooded blazer. I’ve gotten two so far and have my eye on another. I have always loved a blazer as my fall back to adding chic and edge to any outfit. BUT when the hood is added to a blazer it gives me all the more reason to rock the blazer. Makes it so casual and edgy.

Easy to pair with sneakers for the weekend and remove the coat and pair with mules or booties for the office. If there is one item I suggest grabbing for instant coolness this fall for sure it’s a hooded blazer.

Pretty obvious that mules would also make my list for must have trends for fall. They to me are the quintessential transition shoe from summer to fall.
